Sun News: Berea's Roehm Middle School explores turning tragedy into positive force
Article by Joanne Berger DuMound Published in the Sun News June 8, 2011
BEREA -- Rick Schultz held a sign before the 600-plus student body assembled at Roehm Middle School last week for "Pink Out" Day and its anti-bullying message.
Schultz is the brother of Robyn Star Field, a 13-year-old Roehm student who was murdered in 1986 by a 15-year-old classmate. After the murder, individuals came forward, including Field’s classmates, who said Warren Paxton Brown, the eighth-grader who killed Field, had bullied Field. Brown wrote notes saying if he could not have her, no one could.
